I am Japanese and was looking for some decent authentic Chinese meal and some Ann Arbor Chinese dentist told me this is the one. I and my husband(=who has typical American taste) had enjoyed a wonderful dinner. We had roasted Beijing duck, Garlic-source shrimp, and hot sour soup. The duck skin was so crispy, the shrimps were inside juicy and tender, and the soup had a well-balanced taste. We live in Jackson, but surely will come back here. We enjoyed their warm hospitality, too.

I ordered the sesame chicken and fried rice. Both were completely tasteless, and the meat was tough and dry, which is unusual for this type of dish. The egg drop soup was the consistency of gelatin. Only the egg roll had flavor. It was a very disappointing meal.

I've only been here 3 times. Two of those times, years apart, I managed to order the same dish and got unmistakeably rotten meat. Both times I complained. Both times I was told there was nothing wrong - no offer to refund or replace the food. One time the waitress asked if I wanted a to-go container!?! I really tried to impress upon them that they were serving rotting pork to their customers, but they just wrote me off as a crank. The other time I ate there I got something different and it was fine, good even. No one else I ate with had any problem with their food and I tried some other things, all if which were fine. I won't ever go back, and I advise you to stay away too, but if you do go, if stay away from the Salt and Pepper Pork.

We were there with our 6 kids for lunch. Wonderful food and staff. Amazing lunch specials.

Food is good, but not the authentic Chinese food you'd be expecting. Service is ok but they force an 18% tip so be aware.
